Variety cannot tell a lie: "Appleseed" is about to sprout all over the place! Based on the comic book series by Masamune Shirow and presently scheduled for a January 14th release date, "Appleseed" promises to be a revolutionary sort of animated film, as the filmmakers have branded their approach "toon-shading, which," according to ComingSoon.net, "gives 3-D characters a 2-D comic-book look." The film’s producers have recently been contracted by Axis Entertainment to deliver all sorts of "Appleseed" -lings, which will most likely come in the form of a sequel (or two) and perhaps a TV series as well! Here’s hoping movie #1 warrants all these rewards!
