As many of the folks who turned out for the opening day of "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" could tell you, the teaser trailer for director Roland Emmerich‘s upcoming "10,000 B.C." has been released. If you’ve got a weakness for loincloths and woolly mammoths, this will be your news item of the day.
Cinematical tips us off to the teaser’s presence online — and helpfully provides a link — while asking the question on everyone’s mind, specifically:
Can Roland Emmerich’s "10,000 B.C." survive if it doesn’t feature New York City either under water, under ice or being attacked by aliens and/or giant lizards?
The teaser, somewhat obviously, doesn’t answer that; it’s really just a few seconds of quick-cut action shots, heavy on the aforementioned mammoths. This is fine — teasers are supposed to raise more questions than they answer, and the movie doesn’t come out for months — and this one clearly has only one major goal, which is to light a fire under everyone who rushed out to see "300."
