Filmjerk Report: Chainsaws, Saw Sequels, Will Ferrell & Ghost Rider

by | September 6, 2005 | Comments

Every Sunday those mad lunatics over at Filmjerk.com put together what’s known as "The Early Report," which is where you’ll find the very latest in release date changes, theater counts, and MPAA rulings. This week they give us some skinny on "Saw 2," "Ghost Rider," the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" prequel, the untitled Will Ferrell NASCAR comedy, and a whole bunch more.

""Barnyard" (Paramount Pictures): The CG animated comedy about, yep, barnyard animals, has been pushed back from its intended January 13 release, now set to open October 6, 2006.

"Ghost Rider" (Columbia Pictures): Nicolas Cage stars in this adaptaion of the Marvel comic, which has been moved up from August 4 to July 14.

The Untitled Will Farrell NASCAR Project: Flips release slots with "Ghost Rider," so this one will now open on August 4.

"Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Origin" (New Line Cinema): The prequel to the remake of the 1970s horror classic will still open sometime in October 2006, just not October 6 as initially scheduled.

…and an MPAA update for the gorehounds:

"Saw 2" (Lions Gate Films): R for grisly violence and gore, terror, language and drug content.

You’ll find many more updates this and every week over at Filmjerk.com, so be sure to make "The Early Report" one of your Monday morning destinations.
