(Eliza Taylor)
Clarke, the de facto leader of Skaikru, saved everyone (again) at the end of Season 3 by entering the City of Light. Under Lexa’s (Alycia Debnam-Carey) protection and using Raven’s (Lindsey Morgan) hacker prowess, she flipped A.L.I.E’s kill switch to keep everyone from being engulfed by the City of Light. The only problem is that before she “died,” A.L.I.E. told Clarke that the world’s nuclear power stations are melting down and soon the world will be uninhabitable due to the radiation levels, which means Clarke has about six months to figure out how to save her people (again).
(Bob Morley)
Bellamy fell in with the wrong crowd in Season 3, joining Pike (Michael Beach) and his band of mercenaries who felt the Sky People needed to annihilate the Grounders rather than work with them. Fortunately, Clarke’s right-hand man came around in time to see Pike’s true colors and begin fighting for peace and cooperation again. Of course, that may all be a moot point in the face of a global nuclear meltdown, but at least Bellarke is back together, even if it is just as friends.
(Marie Avgeropoulos)
In what was easily the most shocking moment of the Season 3 finale, Octavia avenged Lincoln’s (Ricky Whittle) execution by stabbing Pike to death after they fought alongside each other to defeat A.L.I.E. and the City of Lighters. Octavia’s journey over three seasons has been incredibly fascinating, as she has grown from the “hidden under the floor kid” to a powerful warrior not to be messed with. But how will killing Pike affect her? Has she completely gone rogue, too far gone for even Indra (Adina Porter) to pull her back?
(Lindsey Morgan)
Raven spent a lot of Season 3 being possessed by the City of Light chip and then using her tried-and-true hacker-technology skills to help Clarke defeat A.L.I.E. It’s time Raven got her own storyline. She started to have a potential romance with Wick (Steve Talley) in season 2, maybe the show can find a way to revisit that? But Raven is far too interesting to simply be used for her mechanic skills, so here’s hoping the show gives her something in season 4 that is just as meaty as the few season 3 episodes where she was being controlled by A.L.I.E.
(Richard Harmon)
Murphy has gone from zero to hero in three seasons. We never thought we’d enjoy watching him and Clarke work together, but it was one of the highlights of season 3. If Bellarke need a third person to help thwart the nuclear meltdown, Murphy seems like a great choice — if he’s not too busy with Emori (Luisa D’Oliveira). Theirs was a fun new relationship in season 3.
(Paige Turco)
Marcus Kane
(Henry Ian Cusick)
Season 3 saw quite the tumultuous government at Arkadia, with Dr. Griffin being usurped by Pike and his “take no prisoners” followers. In season 4, Skaikru is going to need an official leader — will they look to Abby again? Or is she done leading and would prefer to go back to being just the medic? Or maybe Kane will take over the mantle of leader for the Sky People. Either way, the trailer for The 100 season 4 had a brief shot of what looked like Abby and Kane kissing, to which we say: ’bout time, you two.
(Isaiah Washington)
Jaha spent most of season 3 as an A.L.I.E. disciple, convincing people to get chipped and join him in the City of Light. It’ll be interesting to see if he can re-integrate with the Sky People now that he’s free from A.L.I.E.’s clutches. It’ll also be interesting to see how he is recovering from all the evil things he did while acting as a recruiter for A.L.I.E. — in the season 3 finale, he killed Ontari (Rhiannon Fish) with a massive blow to the head, something we suspect non-A.L.I.E. controlled Jaha will feel extremely guilty about.
(Zach McGowan)
This King of the Ice Nation eventually became Clarke’s ally when they realized they had a common enemy in A.L.I.E., and he saved Clarke’s life. Unfortunately, Roan was then shot by Kane (he was under A.L.I.E.’s control) and was last seen being dragged off to who knows where. We do know he’s a part of Season 4, though — the trailer shows him talking about “ruling everything” with a power-hungry gleam in his eye, so something tells us he and Clarke are no longer going to be all buddy-buddy in season 4.
(Nadia Hilker)
This Nightblood and leader of the Boat People was last seen refusing to help Clarke defeat A.L.I.E. and also refusing to become the new commander of the Grounders. We don’t yet know if she’ll come into play in season 4, but the trailer showed another woman — one who is not Luna — seemingly picking up a chip and placing it to her forehead. So maybe there’s a new potential leader in town? But it would be a shame if we never hear from or see Luna again.
