Yes, those pint-sized singing rodents are squeaking back into cinemas this Boxing Day, and why not? 2007’s Alvin and the Chipmunks was a surprise smash, taking in more than $360 million worldwide at the box office. That’s a lot of acorns.

The appropriately named Squeakquel sees Alvin, Simon and Theodore ending up with Dave’s (Jason Lee) nephew Toby (Zachary Levi) and going back to school — where they meet their match in The Chipettes, three all-girl singing chipmunks voiced by Amy Poehler, Christina Applegate and Anna Faris.

To mark the upcoming release of the film, 20th Century Fox and Rotten Tomatoes are giving away one major prize pack and 10 runner-up prizes.

The first prize pack contains an Alvin and the Chipmunks karaoke machine; badge maker; Alvin, Simon, Theodore, Brittany, Eleanor and Jeannette plush toys; inflatable guitar; wall stickers; iPod case; fridge magnets; microphone; stationery set; backpack; Alvin and the Chipmunks DVD; and a family pass of four tickets to see the film.

10 runners-up will win a prize pack with the plush toys, guitar, stickers, magnets, microphone, stationery, backpack, DVD and family pass.

To win, just tell us in 25 words or less who your favourite chipmunk is. Send your answers, along with your mailing address, to: Squeakquel giveaway.

Entries close Monday, December 21. Winners will be notified by mail. Please note that the contest is open to Australian residents only.

Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel opens December 26.
