Joaquin Phoenix is making all the headlines with his magnetic performance in Todd Phillips’ Joker, but before he came along to give us all the creeps, who played the character best? We decided to look back at the history of the singularly iconic villain as portrayed on screen and take on the impossible task of figuring out the answer to that question. So how did we do it?
