Variety brings news of "Absolute Angels," a teen-centric horror comedy that will hit the screens courtesy of Warner Bros. and screenwriters Genevieve Jolliffe ("Urban Ghost Story") & Andrew Zinnes. The story focuses on "a lonely goth girl who gets invited to join the high school cheerleading team only to learn the cheerleaders are actually a pack of vampires."
No word yet on whether the comedy material will be dry & slick like "The Lost Boys" or broad & goofy like "Scary Movie," but Ms. Jolliffe will make her directorial debut on the project. Sounds to us like a cross between "The Craft" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," which means it’ll probably find a fairly appreciative teenage audience.
