And you’ll never guess who they got to direct the flick…
Yes, Brett Ratner will direct "Playboy" for Universal Pictures and Brian Grazer‘s Imagine Entertainment. Ratner was so psyched about landing the gig that he sent Grazer an old "Playboy" pinball machine. Neat.
The film will cover the life and (very) colorful escapades of Playboy Magazine king Hugh Hefner. The 81-year-old magazine tycoon recently approved a script by John Hoffman, and Grazer chose Ratner to direct the thing … but only after Oliver Stone passed to do a war movie called "Jawbreaker."
It’s unsure as to when "Playboy" will go into production, because Ratner also has a heist flick on the back burner. According to Variety, "Ratner and Grazer have Eddie Murphy and Chris Rock attached and hope to enlist Chris Tucker, Dave Chappelle, Jamie Foxx, Denzel Washington and Sidney Poitier."
Obviously Ratner also has "Rush Hour 3" coming next month. His other movies include "Rush Hour," "Money Talks," and "X-Men: The Last Stand."
