Plus, in our second edition of Rotten Tomatoes' podcast, By the Numbers, we dive deep into the world of comic-book TV.

The second episode of our By the Numbers podcast was recorded at the largest comic-book convention in the world: Comic-Con in San Diego. Huddled among all those cosplayers and comic-book fans, it only seemed appropriate we choose a theme that matched the surrounds. And so, hosts Jacqueline Coley and Mark Ellis chatted about the caped and spandexed crusaders of the small screen, diving deep into the subject of TV shows based on comic books. From Greg Berlanti’s The Flash and long-running hits like Smallville to 1980s cult curiosity Manimal and failed series like Birds of Prey, we covered all the bases.

Plus, we spoke with the cast of Fox’s The Gifted – Stephen Moyer, Emma Dumont, Sean Teale, Blair Redford, Skyler Samuels, and Natalie Alyn Lind – who broke down what lies ahead for the band of underground mutants in season 2, and shared their own favorite comic-book TV shows. Check out that interview in the video above, and download the full podcast below. (Still keen to know more about comic-book TV? Read our list of the Best Superhero TV Shows of All Time.)
