After turning
Knocked Up and
Superbad into box office
gold this year, are you guys ready for one last bout of comedy from
Judd Apatow
and the gang? The Apatow-produced
Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox
Story is out in theaters December 21st, but for those who
want a taste now, Rotten Tomatoes and Sony Pictures have got your number: Click
this link for the
first 10 minutes (warning: age-restricted!) of Walk Hard!
Directed by
Jake Kasdan (Zero
Effect, The TV Set)
and featuring
John C. Reilly,
Jenna Fischer,
and a glut of cameos, Walk Hard has little of the loose improvisational
comedy Apatow’s (or even Kasdan’s) other flicks. Instead, it’s a snappy,
absurdist spoof on musical biopics played straight by the actors. It’s a rather delicate new subgenre the filmmakers seem to have created: melodramas about kids getting sliced in half by machetes and people barfing at
doo wop concerts.
