In our latest episode of Vs., Rotten Tomatoes contributing editor Mark Ellis ascends to the peak of the Adult Animation pile to pass a profanity-heavy verdict: Is South Park or Rick and Morty the king of crass – and ingeniously satirical – primetime toons? In order to make his decision, Ellis pits Matt Stone and Trey Parker’s long-running and crudely animated series against Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland’s surreal four-season phenom across a number of battle rounds: Tomatometer and Audience Score; Ratings; Characters; and Iconic Moments. (And don’t worry if there’s a draw, Ellis has a wild card round up his sleeve.) So, will it be a case of Oh My God, South Park Killed Its Competition!? Or would that only happen in an alternate reality? Press play to find out.

South Park airs on Comedy Central and is streaming on HBO Max. Rick and Morty airs on Cartoon Network and is streaming on HBO Max and Hulu.
