Variety reports that Sam Raimi‘s production house Ghost House Pictures has acquired the film rights to "Siren," a best-selling videogame in Japan. Michael Gordon, who reportedly will work closely with the videogame director, will pen the screenplay. The story will focus on an American med student looking for her missing sister in Japan, only to find an unspeakable evil in a remote village. No word on who is attached to direct, but it is unlikely Raimi will take the helm.
