As part of our daily "Spider-Man 3" coverage, we bring you a recent statement by series director Sam Raimi. Short version: Clearly he’s not averse to doing another "Spider-Man" flick some time in the future, maybe.

After answering the question probably 5,453 times, here’s what Raimi had to say about the possibility of yet another sequel: "Absolutely … Yes, I just don’t know what the future holds right now because it’s so fresh and just having finished this film like a week ago. It’s taken so many years to put together. My mind is an empty blank right now." So there’s your official answer, interviewers. You can stop asking!

"Next person who says ‘Spider-Man 4’ gets slapped."

In similar news, Kirsten Dunst mentioned that she too would return again … provided that Mr. Raimi and Tobey Maguire were still involved. Me, I just wanna see the third one already.
