Variety reports that "Saturday Night Live" funnylady Amy Poehler has snagged the last meaty role in "Mr. Woodcock." Ms. Poehler joins an ensemble that includes Seann William Scott, Susan Sarandon, and Billy Bob Thornton. The comedy is about an author who heads back to his home town to prevent his mother from marrying a hated old gym teacher. Newcomer Craig Gillespie will be directing the screenplay by first-timers Michael Carnes and Josh Gilbert; former "Simpsons" scribes Josh Sternin and Jeffrey Ventimilia also contributed a draft or two.
