If you were upset when you heard that Platinum Dunes was planning to reboot the Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street series…boy, do we have a story for you.
According to a report published at ShockTillYouDrop, Michael Bay‘s production company is prepping a remake of the 1968 horror classic Rosemary’s Baby. Read on:
Shock was tipped off this weekend, and we were later able to confirm, Platinum Dunes is in talks with Paramount to update Roman Polanski‘s film starring Mia Farrow, John Cassavetes, Sidney Blackmer and Ruth Gordon. Industry sources tell us the Dunes team — producers Brad Fuller and Andrew Form — are currently looking for a writer (or writers) to tackle the material.
The ’68 vintage of Rosemary’s Baby, directed and adapted by Polanski from the Ira Levin novel, has earned mostly unqualified raves for the last four decades; at present, it stands at 98 percent on the Tomatometer. Something tells us critics won’t be as kind to an “update.”
