Paul Greengrass to Direct The Watchmen

"The Watchmen" has a new director, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Paul Greengrass ("The Bourne Supremacy") will take over directorial duties for Darren Aronofsky who has bowed out to work on "The Fountain." With a director on board, the casting search will begin. "The Watchmen" is based on Alan Moore’s graphic novel of the same name. Paramount Pictures is shooting for a possible 2006 release date.
