If you were making a film about a a true-life plane crash that killed an entire college football team, whom would you hire to direct such a tale? Ang Lee? Steven Spielberg? Well, Warner Bros. IS making such a film, and they want McG to direct the thing. Yes, the guy who did the "Charlie’s Angels" movies. And the upcoming "Hot Wheels" movie. And a Cypress Hill video.
Says Variety: "McG is set to direct Matthew McConaughey in an untitled drama about the Marshall U. football team tragedy for Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures.
Story revolves around the 1970 plane crash that killed nearly the entire football team and coaching staff of the West Virginia college.
Jamie Linden ("The Dogs of Babel") penned the screenplay, based on a story by Cory Helms and Linden."
"I’ve been looking to expand my horizons as a storyteller. This is more than a football movie. This is a film about survival and belief in humanity," McG said.

So … when’s "Fastlane" going to be released on DVD, anyway?
(I kid the McG, but I wish him well on this project. And yes, I really did like the first "Charlie’s Angels" flick, so there.)
