This week on DVD, we’ve got a summer movie that belly-flopped at the box office, a couple of smaller Certified Fresh films, some family viewing from Disneynature, and a whole bunch of good TV. Read on for the full list.
Tahar Rahim and Emmanuelle Seigner star in this French drama that weaves together three seemingly unrelated stories that are all connected by a single organ transplant. It comes with an interview with director Katell Quillévéré.
Ben McKenzie and David Mazouz star in this DC Comics-inspired series about the early days of Bruce Wayne, James Gordon (before he became Commissioner), and several classic Batman villains. The season 3 set comes with Gotham‘s 2016 Comic-Con panel, a look at the new villains, deleted scenes, and more.
Disneynature’s annual Earth Day offering for 2017 centers on three animal families — pandas, golden monkeys, and snow leopards — living in the titular nation. Extras include inside looks at how the camera crews captured the rare footage, a music video, and a call to get involved in nature conservation.
Jodie Comer and Essie Davis star in Starz’s sequel series to The White Queen, which follows Queen Elizabeth’s marriage to Henry VII and the ensuing tensions between their families. Unfortunately, the season set does not appear to come with any extras.
The fourth and final season of this Starz prequel series to Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island finds Captain Flint (Toby Stephens) battling to prevent the extinction of pirates in the West Indies. The season set includes episodic recaps and making-of featurettes, a behind-the-scenes look at production, and a few brief discussions between the cast and crew.
Rachel Weisz and Sam Claflin star in Roger Michell’s adaptation of the Daphne du Marier mystery about a young man who becomes obsessed with the cousin he suspects of murdering his guardian. Special features include deleted scenes, a handful of promotional and making-of featurettes, and a commentary track.
Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, and Alexandra Daddario star in this big-screen adaptation of the popular 1990s TV show about a group of lifeguards who uncover a criminal mystery and attempt to solve it. Extras include introductions to the cast and characters, a profile of the show’s legacy, a look at the stunts and training undergone by the cast, and deleted and extended scenes.
