IGN FilmForce has the scoop on who will direct the big-screen adaptation of Marvel’s "Iron Man" comic book series: Nick Cassavetes. Marking his third trip to the director’s chair for New Line (after "John Q" & "The Notebook"), Cassavetes is the son of celebrated filmmaker John Cassavetes and actress Gena Rowlands. "Iron Man" is a long-discussed, oft-delayed project that once had Tom Cruise interested in the title role. New Line is working from a screenplay by David Hayter ("X-Men," "The Scorpion King") and plans to begin casting ASAP. "Iron Man" is currently scheduled for a late 2006 release.
