Diana Gabaldon’s book series Outlander comes to life in a new 16-episode Starz original series (the premiere date is not yet confirmed, but slated for this summer). Caitriona Balfe (Now You See Me, Super 8) and Sam Heughan (Any Human Heart, Doctors) will star in this adaptation by Battlestar Galactica‘s Ronald D. Moore.
In Outlander, a married combat nurse in 1945 suddenly finds herself swept back into 1743 Scotland. In this new (well, old) land, she is forced to marry a warrior, tearing her between her 18th- and 20th-century husbands — which begs the question: is it considered cheating if your husband can only read about it in history books?
