New "Halloween" Explores Michael Myers' Backstory

Casting 6′ 10" Tyler Mane as Michael Myers certainly suggests this "Halloween" killer could be the most imposing. But Rob Zombie’s remake also promises to delve more into Myers’ past to explain why he became the famous slasher killer.

"It was very interesting and it was fun to create how Michael Myers became a product of his environment so to speak and how he was turned into Michael Myers and what he became in the films," said Mane. "It was kind of good to take it back a little bit further than the other ones, to give that extra little bit of history that Rob presented too."

There won’t be too much talking about feelings and childhood, but Zombie wanted to add something to his faithful remake. "He has a fantastic vision for it. He wanted to keep it quite a bit like the original but he also wanted to add some extra things and show a little bit more about Michael Myers instead of just having him a one dimensional character like he’s been in the past."

More Michael Meyers? Schwing!

Dimsension Films is obviously optimistic about restarting the franchise. They have Malcolm McDowell signed for three films as Dr. Loomis. Mane is only signed for two. Perhaps it’s easier to put another guy in the mask.

"We will see. If the people like what I brought to Michael Myers, hopefully we’ll see him again and again and again."
