MTV Takes a Bite Out of the Whole "Damn Nation"

Andy Cosby’s graphic novel of vampire infestation, "Damn Nation," will make it to the multiplexes with the help of MTV Films, says Variety.

The Dark Horse comic book will be adapted by Cosby himself, and (as is nearly always the case with MTV productions) Paramount will be on the distribution end.

Cosby’s dark tale is "set in a United States evacuated due to an attack from vampires that has left the nation suffering from a vampire plague and forced the government to relocate to London as scientists search for a cure."

The author plans to deliver vampires that are a bit more "animal" and a little less "moody." Says Cosby: "I grew up with a big fear of vampires … I see them as cunning like jungle cats."

No word yet on who’ll be directing, but let’s hope it’s someone with decidedly R-rated tendencies!
