Even if most of your attention is focused on the Oscars taking place in the middle of the month, you’ve certainly still got time to check out some of the solid new films hitting theaters in March. From big spectacles and bloody thrills to gritty dramas and classic re-releases, there’s a lot to choose from.

Release Date: March 20, 2026

Another ambitious sci-fi adaptation is blasting into theaters this March with Project Hail Mary, based on Andy Weir’s bestselling novel. Ryan Gosling stars as Ryland Grace, an astronaut who wakes up alone aboard a spacecraft with no memory of his identity or mission. As his memories slowly return, he realizes he’s humanity’s last hope. The film is directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the creative duo behind The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street. Early buzz has been strong for the blockbuster, with many already predicting it could follow in the Certified Fresh footsteps of Weir’s previous adaptation, The Martian.

Release Date: March 6, 2026

Pixar returns to the big screen with Hoppers, an animated adventure centered on Mabel (voiced by Piper Curda), an animal enthusiast who transfers her consciousness into a robotic beaver body in order to communicate with animals. The voice cast also includes Jon Hamm and Bobby Moynihan. As with most Pixar releases, expectations are sky-high, especially given the studio’s long track record of Certified Fresh hits. Early reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, with critics praising its humor and willingness to embrace the zaniness.

Release Date: March 6, 2026

The world of Peaky Blinders expands this March with a full feature-length continuation of the hit crime series. Cillian Murphy reprises his role as Tommy Shelby, picking up after the explosive events of the show’s sixth and final season. The original series earned widespread acclaim across its run, with multiple seasons landing Certified Fresh thanks to its writing and powerhouse performances. For longtime fans, it marks a long-awaited return to one of television’s most beloved dramas.

Release Date: March 6, 2026

Maggie Gyllenhaal reimagines a horror classic with The Bride!, a new take on 1935’s Bride of Frankenstein. Set in 1930s Chicago, the film follows a murdered young woman (Jessie Buckley) resurrected by Frankenstein (Christian Bale) and Dr. Euphronius, only to evolve far beyond her intended purpose. With Buckley and Bale’s performances alongside Gyllenhaal’s direction, The Bride! is shaping up to be one of the month’s most talked-about releases.

Release Date: March 20, 2026

Rounding out our list is the sequel to 2019’s Ready or Not. Ready or Not 2 is set to hit theaters this month with Samara Weaving reprising her role as Grace. Directed once again by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the sequel promises even bigger twists and turns.
