Get out of that glass case of emotion — it’s time to recap the best social reactions to tonight’s breathtaking sixth episode of Legion Season 1!

SPOILERS AHEAD!

STOP HERE IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN EPISODE 6 OF LEGION.

Coyly pegged as an hour of mind-bending drama that takes David “back to where it all started,” Chapter 6 all but confirmed many fans’ long-stewing theories of the Shadow King and David’s lineage — plus made us fall for Syd even more. Catch the highlights from Twitter below.

First things first: People had the hots for Aubrey Plaza’s Dr. Lenny. Would you want Lenny as a therapist? Even though something seemed amiss with Plaza’s devilish character from the very start of the series, viewers couldn’t help but wish Lenny was around to sort their problems out.

All this despite the fact that her rapport with her clients — among them our heroes from weeks past, including Melanie, Cary and Kerry, Syd, the Eye, and David — was questionable at best.

Syd began picking up on her altered reality. Much like the audience, Syd knew something was up but couldn’t quite put her finger on it. It felt like she was dreaming in her own reality — until a mysterious door appeared, and it seemed that she was the only one who could see it. What was on the other side?

Then she really bugged out after indulging in that slice of pie.

As always, the official Legion Twitter page had some insight to pull us along…

Syd was so close to saving the day when she came upon a blistering, pulsing wall (you’ll have to watch it to believe it) and all her memories of the truth came rushing back. But in the nick of time, Lenny was there to hypnotize her back to sleep.

David quite literally went back to the beginning, reenacting the drooling scene from the series’ pilot with Ptonomy in a pretty cool bit before Syd — and eventually others — began awakening to their trapped states.

It’s clear that even though David expresses feeling in control while in therapy, he’s anything but.

In true Legion fashion, Lenny couldn’t help but celebrate with a Bond girl-meets-Nina Simone song break.

Even with the trippy-ness of the group being trapped inside David’s mind, it’s the little moments between David and Syd that keep some emotionally invested.

The episode’s alternate realities inspired plenty of head-scratching.

Could Melanie’s long-lost husband be the one to save them from within the Astral Plane? He managed to pull Kerry away from his sleep with a glowing green ice cube and a scuba suit (unfortunately leaving Cary behind, who’s soon stalked and threatened by the power-hungry Eye) and into the Plane.

As for the Eye…

Still wearing the scuba suit, Oliver then lured Melanie away and into the reality we left at the end of Chapter 5: Syd was shielding David from bullets within his childhood home with everything around them moving hyper-slowly. Confused but determined, Melanie tried to move them out of the bullets’ path to safety.

Lenny is always watching, though. The walls have eyes! And it looks like Melanie won’t be able to save David and Syd in time.

Many fans just wanted it all to end.

In the end, David became cognizant of the truth to his reality and Lenny revealed that she is a “fungus” that David’s birth father — who, in the comics, is X-Men supermutant Professor Charles Xavier — tried to protect him from, but to no avail.

Many took their final conversation (and David’s entrapment in that glass coffin) as confirmation that Professor X is, indeed, David’s father, and that Lenny in David’s mind is the personification of the infamous Shadow King.

In the end, like always, fans just wanted more.
