It appears next February’s Academy Awards ceremony has found its host — one who will be a familiar face for fans of the show.
According to a report at the New York Times, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is bringing back Jon Stewart, host of the 2006 ceremony (as well as a little thing called The Daily Show — maybe you’ve heard of it). Although the Academy’s spokesman and Stewart’s publicist both declined to comment, an announcement is scheduled for today.
The Gil Cates-produced ceremony — which will mark the Oscars’ 80th anniversary — is scheduled for February 28, when it will air on ABC.
