Fox’s sequel to 2002’s "Ice Age" hits theaters Friday, but you can catch a sneak peek at returning heroes Manny, Sid and Diego, and check out the now-melting prehistoric world they inhabit in "Ice Age: The Meltdown."

The first "Ice Age" scored with audiences (at 78% on the Tomatometer), and this time around the animation capabilities at Blue Sky Studios have only gotten better. The trio of heroes are back, voiced by Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, and Denis Leary, and this time viewers will enjoy even more of the lovably tweaked-out Scrat. New characters have also come to the valley, including a pair of zany possums, Crash and Eddie (voiced by Seann William Scott and Josh Peck), and Queen Latifah as another (female!) woolly mammoth, Ellie. Also making additional voice appearances are Jay Leno, Will Arnett, Stephen Root, and Alan Tudyk.

The story picks up as returning characters Manny, Sid, Diego and Scrat find their world subject to global warming, which is causing their icy environment to melt around them. Along with newcomers Crash, Eddie, and Ellie, the team sets out on a treacherous journey across the valley to safety as a glacial dam threatens to give way and release a deadly ocean tide.
