Bloody-Disgusting.com, a fine horror source if ever there was one, shares some news from Universal Pictures, and it’s news that the Zombie Freaks will undoubtedly applaud. George Romero‘s "Land of the Dead," which was previously scheduled for an Oct. 21st release, will now hit movie screens (with a wet, squishy thud) on June 24th.This puts the fourth entry of Romero’s vaunted "Dead" franchise in direct competition with "Bewitched" and "Herbie: Fully Loaded" — although Romero’s not exactly courting the same demographic those flicks are. And this also means that the "Land of the Dead" DVD should hit the store … right around Halloween. (Universal swapped release dates between "Land" and their "Doom" adaptation, which will now occupy the 10/21 spot.)
