The Hollywood Reporter lets us know what’s up next on the docket for the ever-cool George Clooney. Screenwriter Tony Gilroy ("The Bourne Identity") will make his directorial debut on "Michael Clayton," and Mr. Clooney will be stepping into the title role.

According to THR, "Michael Clayton" is about "an in-house "fixer" at a major New York law firm. For 15 years he’s worked behind the scenes to make clients’ personal problems disappear. The story takes place over the four worst and last days in his career." Castle Rock Entertainment and Clooney’s own Section Eight shingle aim to get "Clayton" rolling next January.
