Lovely Bones? The Academy usually want to give him technical awards
before recognizing the artistic merits of his films, but Lovely Bones
is starting to take shape: a sad, scary, visually imaginative (and gently
psychedelic) movie that obviously wasn’t made to be Oscar bait.

Whip It

There’s a lot going on in this poster. Maybe too much. Two taglines. The
title is mentioned TWICE. Letters filled with scenes from the movie. But,
ultimately, it’s a beautifully stark contrast to the big picture: Ellen Page
and her soulful, penetrating gaze. Maybe roller derby IS serious business?

Inception teaser trailer

A mysterious piece of work, this trailer gives us crisp looks into
Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi thriller without revealing anything. Leonardo
DiCaprio, water, people being carried off, a fight with Joseph Gordon-Levitt
in a gravity-defying apartment hallway. Hans Zimmer’s driving score pushes
everything into dread and ambiguity. One of the perfect teaser trailers..
