Fox411 via IGN FilmForce reports that Disney is having difficulty finding a director for "Toy Story 3." According to sources close to the project, no major directors want to take on the film, which will not be made in conjunction with Pixar, over concerns of alienating the animation company. The first two "Toy Story" films were Disney/Pixar co-productions, but with the companies’ agreement lapsing, Disney has decided to make the third film itself, and may hire a new animation team to recreate the Pixar look. It is unclear whether voice stars Tom Hanks and Tim Allen will return for the third installment.
