We’ve got Young Joc and Young Jeezy on the pop charts. How about a young James Bond on the silver screen?
According to a rumor posted at JoBlo, that’s what the Bond camp might have on tap — and Daniel Radcliffe, who was supposedly up for the role a few years ago, is still under consideration. What’s more, he appears to be interested.
The new films, according to the article, will be based on Charlie Higson’s Young Bond books, a series that started with 2005’s SilverFin and whose fourth installment, Hurricane Gold, was released this month. The stories, which take place in the 1930s, revolve around Bond’s death-defying adventures at Eton College.
The filmmakers would need to make some changes if Radcliffe signed on — for instance, Bond is only 13 when the first book begins — but where there’s a will, there’s a way. And it’s all just an unsubstantiated rumor, of course, but it makes a certain amount of sense — particularly for Radcliffe, who is likely already itching to avoid being typecast as Harry Potter.
