Chase Infiniti Talks The Testaments and Her Ultimate Fangirl Experience with K-Pop Band Ateez
The One Battle After Another star shares how she auditioned for The Testaments, how she prepared for a particularly difficult scene, and more.
After the work that she put in during the awards season for One Battle After Another, we all would understand if Chase Infiniti took a much-needed break from the grind. However just a few months later, she is back at it and Emmy nominated for her work in The Handmaid’s Tale sequel series The Testaments. Playing Agnes, the daughter of revolutionary June Osborn, she gives a reserved and captivating performance. The Hulu series, which attempts to fills in the gaps The Handmaid’s Tale didn’t cover, also serves as an incredible showcase for a crop of talented young actresses and an exciting peek into the new Gilead.
In their chat, Infiniti shares when she auditioned for the role, why the return of crew members from the original series made the world of Gilead feel so lived-in and real, and how she mentally prepared for the emotionally demanding scene in which Agnes is interrogated by the Commanders about her suitability for marriage.
Later, Infiniti reflects on her most precious memories from One Battle After Another and how it felt to live every fangirl’s dream starring in the music video for her favorite K-pop band Ateez, during which she marries every member.

Jacqueline Coley: You finished One Battle After Another before this, correct? What was the order of filming these two? And talk about the scripts and the audition process, because obviously The Handmaid’s Tale was such a huge show, so there’s a lot of pressure.
Chase Infiniti: Our first day of filming was April of 2025, and I had wrapped One Battle After Another maybe July of 2024, I believe. I found out I had the job around December or January, so there was a good amount of time between the two. But that whole audition process… I remember getting an email in my inbox saying “confidential project.” Well, this is interesting. But you can kind of get an idea when you start to read the script, and you’re like, “OK, they’re speaking very differently to how we’re speaking.” The names and everything were hidden, but I could kind of get a sense. I was like, “Okay, this is The Handmaid’s Tale sequel, The Testaments,” because it’s very distinct in the way that people talk and the way that they behave.
I got an email in my inbox — I want to say beginning of November or something — asking me to audition for it. I read the first script and was like, “Oh, definitely.” I loved the idea of getting to dive into a world that was so well built out and was very different from the other projects I’ve done, compared to Presumed Innocent, compared to One Battle After Another, especially. The Testaments is very different from both of those. So the idea of diving into a world that was distinctly different in that way, I found very interesting.
I think I sent in my first audition via self-tape, and then I met with Bruce Miller, the showrunner, twice after that, for two separate callbacks. I found out maybe in December or January, and then we were filming in April. I flew out maybe a month before we started filming to do a bunch of fittings, get to know the cast, and meet everybody. So it was a good amount of time between OBAA and this, but they came out so perfectly after each other. I’m still like, how did that happen so perfectly?
