Longtime editing bay wizard and frequent Brett Ratner collaborator Mark Helfrich has landed himself a directing gig, courtesy of New Line Cinema. Mr. Helfrich will direct "Good Luck Chuck," which The Hollywood Reporter describes as a "romantic comedy about a man who breaks up with his longtime girlfriend only to see her get engaged to the next guy she dates. The same pattern occurs with his next girlfriend and continues to repeat. He finds himself becoming a lucky charm for women…" The high-concept screenplay was written by Josh Stolberg ("Kids in America," TV’s "Phantom Investigators").
