Fresh off the surprisingly strong debut of his "Borat," Sacha Baron Cohen has signed on to star in DreamWorks’ "Dinner with Schmucks." It’s a comedy, of course, based (not surprisingly) on a French farce.
From IGN Movies & Variety: "Sacha Baron Cohen, a.k.a. Borat, is attached to star in the DreamWorks comedy "Dinner With Schmucks." The project, a remake of the 1998 French flick "Le Diner de cons," (aka "The Dinner Game") will be produced by Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald.
Variety says that in the original film, "a Paris publisher urges his friends to invite the most pathetic people possible to his weekly dinner party. In the English-language remake, Cohen would play a guest so full of ‘schmuckiness’ that he ruins the lives of anyone who comes into his orbit."
Sounds funny.
