Apted Climbs Aboard Walden's "Amazing Grace"

Walden Media, the company that brought us "Holes" and "Around the World in 80 Days," is just revving up pre-production on "Amazing Grace." Variety indicates that the movie will be "based on the life of British anti-slavery crusader William Wilberforce." Screenwriter Stephen Knight ("Dirty Pretty Things") has earned scribe duty on the project, and his screenplay "will focus on Wilberforce’s efforts as a member of Parliament in 18th-century England to end slavery and the slave trade in the British empire." Expect this be more of a family-friendly adventure than a high-violence affair.
