Any New Progress on a Family Guy Movie?

Seth McFarlane gives an update.

Any die-hard Family Guy fan already has the made-for-video semi-movie (Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story) on their DVD shelf — and it’s a pretty funny flick. But when will we get to see the Griffin family on the big screen?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, we won’t be seeing the Family Guy movie any time real soon — but series creator Seth MacFarlane admits that there has been some talk on the topic: “We have been trying to figure out how to do that and the series at the same time without the series suffering.” Which is sort of the same thing the Simpsons producers have been saying for years. Heck, even the South Park guys said it.

But being that Family Guy is one of Fox’s most profitable properties, it seems only logical that a movie version would show up sooner or later. To hear MacFarlane say it, fans will be waiting at least two years or so. (As long as the show is still funny, I can be patient.)
