Dr. Seuss’ beloved 1990 book Oh, the Places You’ll Go! is being adapted into one of Hollywood’s most anticipated animated films. Ariana Grande and Josh Gad have just been announced as the lead voice actors via a social media post by Warner Bros.

Published a year before Dr. Seuss’ passing, Oh, the Places You’ll Go! follows a young adventurer as they navigate the ups and downs of life. The musical adaptation is being produced by Warner Bros. Pictures Animation and is set to hit theaters in IMAX on March 17, 2028.

The film will be co-directed by Jon M. Chu and Jill Culton. Known for Crazy Rich Asians and Wicked, Chu has built a reputation for creating blockbuster hits. His next film, Wicked: For Good, a sequel to the 2024 hit starring Grande and Cynthia Erivo, is slated for release on November 21, 2025, following the first film’s impressive $700 million global box office performance. Culton, an experienced animator, is known for creating characters and storylines for films such as Monsters, Inc., A Bug’s Lifeand Toy Story 2.

Additionally, it was announced earlier this month that Chu is also spearheading a live-action Hot Wheels movie for Warner Bros. and Mattel Studios, expected to release in the next few years.

The creative team behind Oh, the Places You’ll Go! includes writer Rob Lieber (Peter Rabbit) and Oscar-winning songwriting duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land, The Greatest Showman), who will be writing original music for the film. J.J. Abrams and Gregg Taylor are on board as producers.

Grande will also appear in the fourth installment of the Meet the Parents franchise alongside Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro, while Gad is set to produce and star in Spaceballs 2, arriving in 2027.

And the Dr. Seuss fun doesn’t stop there. Warner Bros. Pictures Animation is also preparing for the release of The Cat in the Hat on February 27, 2026, with Bill Hader lending his voice to the iconic character.
