Andrew Burden

Andrew Burden writes short stories, film scripts, articles and film columns. He is still trying to perfect the art of writing letters. He has been published in all sorts of odd places. His work has featured in the American small press magazine Flesh and Blood (1998, New York) and Ire (1998) an anthology of South African horror (yes, such a thing exists and is doing quite nicely thank you). His story and screenplay Minor Parts was produced by Jon Savage in Grahamstown as well, and despite its intention now resides on the comedy shelf of the local video shop. He has reviewed films for South African broadcasters M-Net and currently writes Cult de Sac, a regular dose of the macabre and offbeat for iafrica.com. He also plays drums, guitar and (much to the sorrow of his family) is currently thumping his way through the fundamentals of loud fuzzy bass. He enjoyed a stint as a guest member of The Buckfever Underground (thanks for the beers) but it currently enjoying the bass too much to inflict it on anyone else. He vaguely remembers studying Journalism and Media Studies at Rhodes University in Grahamstown, but can't be sure. You can email Andrew on a.burden@webmail.co.za or cultdesac@webmail.co.za. He enjoys receiving emails, as long as they're not from the neighbours complaining about his loud fuzzy bass.
