"X-Files" Star to Wreak Vengeance in "Straightheads"

Gillian Anderson, fan favorite from her time spent on "The X-Files," will star in the British revenge drama "Straightheads," says Variety.

"Straightheads" is the story of a middle-class couple who embark on a spree of vengeful violence after they are assaulted by a gang."

Documentary filmmaker Dan Reed will make his narrative feature debut on the project, which is only one of several productions that FilmFour is hatching.

"David Mackenzie is prepping the left-field romance ‘Hallam Foe,’ starring Jamie Bell and Connie Nielsen. Bell plays a troubled teen from a broken family who falls for a woman identical to his dead mother. Nielsen will play his wicked stepmother.

Also, "Dead Man’s Shoes" director Shane Meadows "will begin filming the autobiographical skinhead drama "This Is England" (previously called "Oi! This Is England") this month. Pic is based on the director’s experiences as a preteen skinhead in early 1980s England."
