White Noise 2: The Light Set Visit

Rotten Tomatoes staffers’ Senh Duong and Phu Bui-Quang paid a visit earlier this month to the set of Bright Light Picture’s White Noise 2: The Light, the sequel to the first White Noise starring Michael Keaton. White Noise 2 is being filmed in and around Vancouver, British Columbia under the direction of one of the greatest horror gurus in the business, Patrick Lussier. His previous directorial works include Wes Craven’s Dracula 2000, II, and III as well as serving as an editor on Red Eye and the Scream trilogy.

Nathan Fillion from Firefly, Serenity, and Slither stars as Abraham Dale, a man whose family is murdered and his near death experience grants him the ability to see the white light within people if they’re about to die giving the film a Final Destination-esque type feel to it. Katee Sackhoff of Battlestar Galactica fame plays Sherry Clarke, a young nurse who meets Abraham Dale at the hospital she works at and helps him through his ordeals.

The set visit was about halfway through the filming process. Lorraine Jamison, White Noise 2’s lovely publicist, picked us up from our hotel the day after we arrived to Vancouver and drove us to a hospital rumored to be haunted in Vancouver where the scenes were being shot for the day. The scenes being filmed involved both Nathan and Katee. Nathan was not on set yet for the first scene we saw being shot where Katee’s character, Sherry, made a telephone call from her bedroom to Abe to discuss about meeting up. Since Nathan was not present, a stand in was being used. Later that evening, Nathan’s scene was being shot where he was driving his SUV and catches glimpses of what he believes to be a ghost.
