Whedon's Serenity Teleports From Pre-Summer to Post

Joss "Buffy" Whedon’s failed-series-turned-movie "Serenity" (based on the 15-episode Fox-cancelled "Firefly") has removed itself from April ’05, settling instead for a September release, according to Joblo.com. Mr. Whedon explained it thusly: "April got crowded with a lot of titles aimed at a similar demographic, and the studio decided September was a clearer corridor for the film to make the kind of impact it should." "Serenity" is written and directed by Joss Whedon, stars Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres, Alan Tudyk and Adam Baldwin, and bankrolled by the dice-rollin’ folks over at Universal Pictures.
