Disney has just unleashed the first full trailer for Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens. Snuggle up with your favorite Wampa and watch the trailer below, and get ready for the biggest movie of the year when it drops December 18:

  • Nate Blank

Wait the lady is talking to the girl so the girl is a Jedi. maybe?

    • Tzlil Sivan

Probably so. Looks like Daisy Ridley is in the leading role for the new trilogy. Respect!

  • Brendan Sullivan

    I had an orgasm.

    • James Mijoli Corzos

      Just one?!

      • Brendan Sullivan

Well I’m one and done but I can go all night.

  • Caligula

I think they’re going to ruin the Star Wars franchise, like they keep doing to other great movies, by trying to do what they keep trying to do.

    • firecrotch hotpants

Aren’t all movies pretty much been rehashes of old books, plays or other older movies? I mean how many unique movie ideas are floating out there that didn’t borrow heavily from another source?

      • GCeri

Exactly. How many adaptations of Shakespeare have been done, and many of them are great. Some, like “Westside Story” are even indirect adaptations and are still wonderful movies. This “reboots and sequels suck” meme is getting tiresome.

      • Garry Founds

Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain): “There is no such thing as a new idea. It is impossible.”

No truer words were ever spoken–other than maybe “Piers Morgan sucks.”

  • Carlos de la Torre

    That stupid sword

  • mel hoffman

looks like j.j. ruined another film. from too many flash cuts in armageddon to cheap looking cgi in this tiny trailer. the story is re-hashed. i predict the darth vader type is luke using a cheap tone splitter for his voice. i’ve seen enough.

    • Ht Rubenstein

maybe maybe not i have a feeling tho that this will be better than the prequels tho.

    • Indiana_Solo

It’s not Luke. There have been photos shown of Kylo without his mask, it’s not him. In all likelihood, it’s a Darth Vader obsessed, wannabe Sith with a cult following.

      • Fanatoli Guyoff

they’ll probably just use the brother sister story from the books except that they changed their names and personalities.

    • Zachary Smith

J.J. Abrams is more than capable of honing the Star Wars saga. It clearly shows in the trailer. Also, most of the film is practical effects, and George Lucas ruined Star Wars himself with the first two prequels. Sorry, but its true.

      • Smas Mot

Like the reboot of Star Trek, I expect the first movie to be awesome, and then he’ll just remake The Empire Strikes Back…

        • fraggie

He didn’t remake The Wrath of Kahn.. he remade the first episode of TOS in which they meet..

          • Smas Mot

I guess you didn’t watch “Into Darkness”

        • Smas Mot

I was wrong, he just made Star Wars over

    • Greg

hahahahahahaha “flash cuts in armageddon to cheap looking cgi in this tiny trailer” Nice grammar. The trailer is over two minutes, not short by any standard. Abrams purposely and meticulously used physical sets, miniatures, forced perspective matte painting, and a myriad of film techniques employed in the originals and rarely seen in films today rather than rely on cgi just because it exists. Do a little research before you troll, Troll.

  • Damir Obad

There are more genuine SW moments and feels in these two and half minutes, than in all three prequels combined! EPIC!

    • Des Akkari

God knows your right….see what happens when George Lucas doesn’t touch the script.

      • Aveles

Yeah, and why should he? He only came up with the entire idea of Star Wars himself and risked his entire livelihood to give it to the world when everyone told him it was a ridiculous idea. You’re an idiot. You write him off like he’s nobody.

        • asdasdfd

Hahaha George only created something good ripping off The Hidden Fortress, others writers make it better.

    • GCeri

Just compare the look of grit and emotion on Rey’s face when she’s firing her blaster to the absolute boredom on the faces of people firing blasters in the prequels. The contrast is quite stunning. I’m so glad that Abrams has focused on performances rather than special effects.

      • Patrick

I couldnt agree with you more! Seeing actual emotions is making me giddy with excitement … what a breath of fresh air

  • Andreas

It’s hard to swallow that they decided to keep Spock out of this movie.

    • Too soon!

      • michael1968

no no no. The proper rebuke is “ANDREASSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!”

  • Colm Quigley

can only hope it redeems the franchise after the disastrous prequels

    • Zachary Smith

The first two prequels were really bad, but Star Wars Episode III: The Revenge of the Sith redeemed that part of the saga.

      • firecrotch hotpants

That movie redeemed nothing, this line will never be made okay.

“I don’t like sand. It’s coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere.” -Anakin Skywalker

        • David Ferrari

I think that’s a pretty acurate statement though. I love going to the ocean but I don’t like it when I have to leave and sand gets all over my wet feet. Anakin knows what I’m saying.

          • firecrotch hotpants

He taught me how to get girlfriends too. Stare intensely into their eyes, never listen to them telling you to stop creeping on them. Talk about sand. Murdering people is cool too, as long as they are dirty sand people.

        • fraggie

I know right ? sounds more like something a girl would say…

      • GCeri

I agree. It was still flawed, but mostly excellent and deserving of a place in the saga.

  • Fanatoli Guyoff

That girl doesn’t really look like Jaina solo. Why do they keep calling her Rey. Disney is confusing

    • Jersey

because it isnt Jaina solo, there is no jaina solo, the whole expanded universe was wiped clean. its a new character, named rey. thats why they call her rey

      • GCeri

I think it was a joke. Hard to tell sometimes, though!

      • Fanatoli Guyoff

So han luke and leia gone too? I hope so they were my least favorite characters in the books. They were such flat characters compared to all the rest.

      • fraggie

so luke and leia’s daughter then ?

  • John B. Traylor

You’re never to old to enjoy this.

Finally a good reason to go to the movies again.

    • Dion Johnson

Fury Road, Inside Out, and (surprisingly)Jurassic World were cool too.

  • Bryan Robbins

is this the new star trek movie?

  • Iceman1956

  • Chris Geriak

Stop, STOP! My penis can only be so erect!

  • Willy B!

I agree the prequels didn’t live up to the standards Lucas set with the originals, but all this Lucas bashing is rediculous. Give him credit for inspiring a generation of filmmakers like Abrams who can take his material to the next level.

  • Les Portelli

You people are so silly. Shallow art for shallow people. This looks so stupid, no depth at all. Another futile attempt by the painfully untalented JJ Abrams. Looks like a video game for the idiot millennial generation.

    • David Ferrari

I speak on behalf of the Star Wars community- if you have nothing positive to say then say nothing. You will learn this and turn from the dark side.

  • Adam Lanotte

I have a theory regarding Luke Skywalker I have not seen hypothesized yet. Obviously, the theory is out there he has turned to the dark side, but most of those maybe believe he is Kylo Ren, which from what I have read is most likely not the case. Master Yoda teaches us syth lords operate with two, never more and never less. What if Luke is the Syth Lord, and Kylo Ren is the apprentice. Further, like Darth Vader wanted to rule as father and son with Luke, what if Kylo Ren is Luke’s son? What do you think?

    • Adam Lanotte

One more part of the theory, to bring the Luke/ Leia being part of the force into full circle, perhaps this one actually has Rey take an active role as a Jedi where she is the sister of Kylo Ren, like leia was to Luke. Where the first three never truly pit family against family except for Luke coming to grips with Darth Vader being his father, which was more like a child who never knew his father growing up, perhaps this is more like Civil War in nature, and truly pitting two family members that have grown up together against each other. I believe like most, Rey is the daughter of either Luke or Leia, but I also believe she is related to Kylo Ren. Either they are brother/sister, or cousins

      • Adam Lanotte

I mean one way or another, after the prequels and originals, one has to ask how many were left alive to pass on the force to their heirs? We know of only two that are certainly alive, Leya and Luke

        • Gianni

Kylo Ren is not a sith. He is a member of the knights of Ren. It is possible he is related to one of the original cast members though. Either Han/leia or luke. Also it is highly unlikely that luke has turned to the dark side. He probably will play more of a yoda role in the new trilogy

          • fraggie

Agreed , luke as the new yoda is more likely. also, remember, jedi’s aren’t allowed to fall in love, so i think he will be a loner. although this could also drive him dark.. hmm..

  • Jeff F.

I dream of living in a parallel universe where Star Wars and all of it’s evil progeny don’t exist.

  • Pepper Williams

Glad they kept Harrison Ford in:)

  • Dion Johnson

The feels are strong with this one.

Before any one of us, those of fandom or just those of curiosity begin to judge……..It’s a monumental task to take on an incredible movie trilogy such as Star Wars. Hence the problem with the next 3. Though I had less problems with most regarding the previous 3 (albeit Jar Jar Blinks), the future excites me……..Relax, and enjoy the ride

  • fraggie

I miss Star Wars Galaxies 🙁 (the community version doesn’t cut it )

  • jbog1038

Harrison Ford looks tired. I admire him for making an appearance again in his once greatest film saga “Star Wars”. I think Harrison Ford is a great actor but this episode should be his last in my opinion. The trailer I just viewed shows promise to be a big hit.

  • Reach High

people should celebrate the opening of this movie by burning the prequels at the theatres

  • Stephen Wilborne

The franchise has already been shat upon once. Shame if all your hopes and anticipation are shat on again. The butthurt will be EPIC.

  • Thomas Taylor

Since I didn’t see Mark– I assume he is the dark force behind the mask– in the words of Yoda. “joined the dark force he has”. sorry to have ruined it for you.

  • Carlos Casten

I’m glad Michelle Obama got a Hollywood role, alongside some of her supporters.

  • biffula

The “Whitey is Evil” Star Wars Episode.

  • cell pat

To see the tie and x wing fighters under the light of day is shocking! Gives them more realism. and to see the battles under the light of sun brings a sense of tragedy and lets you see the real war. And finn is going to battle kylo ren! I hope it is not the end of finn. Because Kylo’s sword looks evil!
And to see Han’s solemn face while saying “its all true” is priceless! Say no more!

  • Adam William

    good quality

  • thanks a lot dude 😀
