"Transformers" Tidbits, Vol. 2

by | April 30, 2007 | Comments

How about a nice batch of "Transformers" tidbits this fine Monday morning? We have pics, news, and (yes) the first fanboy review to hit the ‘net.

Let’s break out the bullet points for this one:

  • Entertainment Weekly had a few nifty new pics of the "Transformers," and one fansite was cool enough to scan ’em for us. (Here and here.) Pretty slick stuff, and this is coming from a guy who never really got into the cartoon in the first place.
  • Here’s what Michael Bay‘s been up to: Shooting tie-in ads for Pepsi and GM, he’s NOT fighting with producer Steven Spielberg (thereby squashing some rumor I’d not heard of), and correcting certain statements that some fans took as a knock on the original cartoon series. (It’s all there at Bay’s blog.)
  • Lastly we have a written reaction from some guy who saw a test screening version of "Transformers" in Arizona. Phrases like "Starscream was awesome" and "I JUST SAW OPTIMUS PRIME IN AN ORGY OF KICKASSERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" are tossed around quite enthusiastically. Check out the rest at AICN.
  • "Transformers" opens July 4th.
