Trailer Bulletin: Sneak Peeks at "Ocean's Thirteen," "Evan Almighty," "Hostel: Part II," and "Chuck & Larry" Now Online

Trailer fans, rejoice: You can now get your first extended look at not one, not two, not three, but four upcoming releases. This is a pretty varied batch, too — you’ve got action and suave derring-do, with "Ocean’s Thirteen"; biblically inspired comedy, with "Evan Almighty"; blood-curdling, exploitative horror, with "Hostel: Part II"; and sheer, unadulterated slapstick, with "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry."

Of the four, "Ocean’s Thirteen" is definitely the release with the highest profile; whether the movie’s actually any good or not, nobody’s going to beat this cast’s star power in 2007 (or maybe ever) — and happily, if the trailer’s anything to go by, "Thirteen" is tighter and less self-indulgent than 2005’s "Ocean’s Twelve."

"Evan Almighty" has been dogged by negative scuttlebutt for months, owing at least partially to its rumored status as the most expensive comedy ever made; though it’s probably safe to say that star Steve Carell’s career trajectory will be unimpeded even if "Evan" tanks, there’s still plenty riding on the movie. Now, about this trailer: It’s got its funny moments, sure, but we’re still sort of underwhelmed. There’s something troubling about a film that appears to rely so heavily on animal jokes, no?

The "Hostel: Part II" trailer is essentially a blend of the ominously narrated teaser and the more explicit bit of footage that surfaced online a couple of weeks ago. It doesn’t give away much, but given the film’s content, that probably couldn’t be helped.

And then there’s "I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry," the Adam SandlerKevin James comedy about a pair of firefighters who pretend to be a gay married couple in order to circumvent the rules of their retirement plan. If you’ve been tempted to dismiss this as mindless lowbrow fare, we can sympathize; in fact, that’s exactly what it looks like. But nobody does mindless and lowbrow better than Sandler, and God help us, this trailer left us wanting to see more.

"Ocean’s Thirteen" and "Hostel: Part II" open June 8, "Evan Almighty" debuts June 27, and "I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry" reaches theaters July 20.
