Not very long ago, we here at RT were proud to unveil our very first informational widget, offering news, opening movies, photos, and trailers “to-go.” Not only could users post it to their websites and social networking profiles, but they were also able to download it directly to their desktops. It was a convenient way to get the most basic movie info all in one place.
And now, we’ve made it even better! How? Well, there were a few things in the first widget that could have been improved, so we decided to go ahead and improve them. First and foremost, the new widget has a more streamlined look and feel; it felt a bit clunky before, and its a lot smoother now. Secondly, it is now scalable. This means users will be able to adjust the size of it according to their needs. Make it wider, narrower, taller, shorter, whatever it takes to make it fit where it needs to go.
And lastly, when the widget has been downloaded to a desktop, a button in the upper left of the widget will transform it into a Fresh/Rotten icon that rotates through the opening and top box office movies. It’s simple, it gives you just what you need to know, and it’s, well, cute. And who doesn’t like a floating tomato on their desktop every now and then?
So there you have it folks! Download it, upload it, encode it, embed it… Do with it what you will, and take a piece of RT with you when you leave.
