The RT community has spoken, and John Carpenter has been voted to the top of the Horror Director Showdown. The man who brought us HalloweenThe Fog, and The Thing, among many others, had little trouble besting his opponents each round, even though he faced off with the likes of Joe Dante and Alfred Hitchcock. In the end, he was pitted against another giant of 1970s and 1980s horror cinema, Wes Craven, and if we’re being honest, we expected the match-up to be a little closer than it was. In the end, Carpenter netted nearly two-thirds of all the votes to be crowned champion.

As always, thanks to everyone who participated, and make sure to keep an eye out for the next voting bracket we publish! Happy Halloween, and stay safe out there tonight!
