TAGGED AS: Amazon, Sci-Fi, science fiction, Syfy
In this exclusive clip from season 3, episode 8 of Syfy’s The Expanse, a documentary film crew aboard the Rocinante spies on Amos Burton (Wes Chatham) and Alex Kamal (Cas Anvar) as they discuss their captain’s erratic behavior. The two vow to keep an eye on James Holden (Steven Strait), who’s been compulsively scanning himself for signs of the protomolecule after haunting appearances by Joe Miller (Thomas Jane). The detective was killed when the protomolecule-infested asteroid Eros slammed into Venus and now unnerves Holden in episode “It Reaches Out.”
The sci-fi show, about an eclectic crew of space freelancers operating in the solar system now populated by humans (and their political turmoil) and first alien contact, is based on the series of novels by James S. A. Corey (the pen name for collaborators Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck). The series also stars Shohreh Aghdashloo as Chrisjen Avasarala and Dominique Tipper as Naomi Nagata and will move to Amazon for its fourth season.
Critics Consensus: Building on earlier potential and extending character arcs throughout a solidly crafted third season, The Expanse continues to impress — and shows no signs of abating.
