"Snakes on a Plane" All Over the Internet!

I know some of you out there are already knee-deep in "Snakes on a Plane" overkill, and I can’t say I blame you … but me personally? I can’t wait to see the flick already, and the second wave of Snake-mania has taken over the internet, which is why you can now get all sorts of pics, clips, trailers, and even a nifty little "fan kit" from the official site.

First off we have some soundtrack news from The Hollywood Reporter: "Los Angeles-based band Captain Ahab was the official winner of the "Snakes on a Plane" soundtrack contest, which was thrown by New Line Cinema and social networking site TagWorld. Captain Ahab’s song, "Snakes on a Brain," beat out nearly 500 entries and will be placed in the film and on the "Snakes on a Plane" soundtrack.

In addition, band Louden Swain was named the runner up, securing their song "Here Come The Snakes" a place on the film’s soundtrack, which will be released by New Line Records on Aug. 18. TagWorld hosted the contest, and the TagWorld community then voted on submitted tracks, narrowing the competition down to 25 finalists. From there, the "Snakes On A Plane" filmmakers chose the two finalists. Both songs can be heard at www.tagworld.com/snakesonaplane."

Next we click on over to IGN FilmForce for a big stack of "SOAP" pics, clips, and random geeky excitement.

(Taking a side trip to check out the "Snakes on a Plane" teaser trailer…)

And finally we end up at the official movie site, where the "Fan Kit" offers multimedia goodies (wallpapers, screen savers, AIM icons, audio and video clips) of a very reptilian kind.

The Sam L. / Snakes sensation hits theaters on August 18th.
