Yeah, so Peter Jackson (almost) definitely won’t be directing New Line’s "The Hobbit" movie, but here comes an amusing little post-holiday rumor: It involves a mega-successful trilogy-maker NOT named Peter Jackson!

I’ll let TheOneRing.net tell you: "Word from a reliable source indicates that Sam Raimi has been approached to direct THE HOBBIT. Since Peter Jackson’s (Middle-)earth shattering news that he is off the project, it seems the Spider-Man director may step into his place."
