For those who adore Peter Jackson but keep wondering when he’s going to get back to something smaller (and by "smaller" I mean "something not massive"), I have some good news…
Paramount will distribute the $65 million dollar film, which is an adaptation of "The Lovely Bones" by Alice Sebold. It’s about a 14-year-old (dead) girl who watches over her family (and her killer) from above. It’s a book that Jackson’s been planning to cinemize for quite some time now, and the production will finally begin in October.
DreamWorks dude Steven Spielberg said this: "When you read an emotionally magical story that cries out to be turned into a major motion picture, you hope its winding path can find its way to the door of your own company."
Sounds like a very promising project, and a movie I look forward to seeing. And the Jackson can do another $200 million monster movie!!!
